A Divine Introduction
Only God can draw a confession from the hearts of the lost! Only Christ can convince the pluralist, the atheist, the agnostic, that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. It isn’t all on you and me. We do have work to do, but He does the heavy lifting.
Getting Into Jesus
We aren’t just spectators watching the Jesus Network, looking for a good recipe for biblical ethics. No! We are IN Him just as He is IN us! We participate in the actual events of His life by virtue of our union with Him. This is our “quantum leap” into Jesus! This is how we get into Jesus! What a privilege! What a joy!
Those Who are Far Off
God is still at work! He is still drawing men, women, and children to himself! He is in all the far off places, lighting the hearts of Magi who may live next door, work in the next cubicle, or on the next treadmill over.
Get In the Boat
Does our daily labor make any difference in the world? Are our careers and hobbies merely for our survival and enjoyment? This week, we join the disciples for breakfast on the shore with the risen Jesus Christ. After a night of fruitless labor, Christ leads them to a miraculous catch. As we go along our lives, plying our trade and casting our nets, we may encounter the voice of the risen Jesus Christ telling us where the fish are. As missionaries, we rely on the leading of Jesus to be fishers of men, women, and children. Let’s pull in our catch and bring the lost to sit down for breakfast with Jesus.
Casting & Mending
When Jesus began his public ministry, he preached a very simple message. “The Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news.” This week, we meet the first disciples Jesus calls to follow him: Peter, Andrew, James, and John. Fr. Ben Williams looks at the significance of what these disciples were doing when they were called. The message Christians are to continue proclaiming must be accompanied by the call to repentance. Otherwise, we are casting broken nets as we seek to obey Jesus’ call to fish for men and women.
The Gospel We Share
Do we have to get all cleaned up to be loved by God? This is an honest question asked by many in the depths of the heart. The truth is, there is no way we could get cleaned up enough to enter into God’s loving presence. But the good news is that we don’t have to. By faith, all men and women, every Jew and Gentile have access to the righteousness of God in Christ. However, this good news is only believed when someone hears it, and for that to happen, someone must preach it. This week, Fr. Ben Williams spends some time in Romans 10 as we continue to learn about the gospel we share.
