Children’s Choir Rehearsals

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Wednesdays, 5:00-5:30 p.m. in the Choir Room.
A season of music opportunities and offerings for children in grades 1-5.  Ear-training and vocal preparation, rhythm and music reading skills will be central to the music education aspects of choir training; time in rehearsals is spent on finding and exercising the voice and on enjoying singing together.  Verbal thinking in rehearsals involves explaining and applying sacred texts to be sung - on extending language and understanding regarding holy texts.  Finally, by serving as the choir for various services during the year, our children are given the opportunity to lead the congregation in worship; children’s choir, then, is preparation for music ministry.
