Greeters
The mission of the Greeter Program is to make everyone feel welcome whenever they attend St. James’. We strive to create a hospitable, caring and inclusive community of fellow Christians by showing God’s love through each of us. Duties include smiling, speaking to everyone, handing out name tags, giving directions and answering any questions. Greeters are scheduled on Sunday mornings before the 8:40 a.m. & 11:05 a.m. services about once every four to six weeks. Warning!! Serving on this committee is habit forming. We have a great time meeting and greeting fellow members and newcomers alike!

Newcomer Gatherings
The Newcomer/Inquirers’ Class has special events about every six weeks. These gatherings introduce new members to the St. James’ experience. Newcomer Gatherings need help setting up, serving, and cleaning up for each event. This is an easy and fun way to contribute your talents and introduce yourself to prospective new members.

Newcomer Sponsors
We are seeking confirmed communicants of St. James’ to serve as a key link between the parish and the newcomer. The sponsor will attempt to attend Church School classes with their sponsoree. Additionally the sponsor will invite their sponsoree to events at St. James’. The sponsor will act as a “spiritual friend” to the course participants. You are responsible for introducing your sponsoree to other members of St. James’ and to different ministries or programs that might meet their unique needs and interests. Finally, you must be present on Confirmation Sunday.
